MS FFB 2 Set up tips

Listed below are setup tips for the

Microsoft Force Feedback 2 stick for use in IL2

These are my personal settings for IL2. I prefer a zero deadband and smaller range of motion.

This creates a tight stick where any reaction creates a result.

MS FFB2 Issues and possible corrections
No Center Tension - Mostly experienced by Via chipset users in MS OS before Win XP , loss of center tension can make your stick feel like a wet noodle. You can correct this by downloading the VIA chipset patch from MS Sidewinder site .

Do not confuse this with the actual in game low tension at lower speeds ( under 220 kmph). IL2 at lower speeds, I feel properly models the lack of stick stiffness and in fact has made me much more aware of my Energy state.  By setting the center tension and FFB to high in MS Sidewinder settings you should feel noticeable tension at 220 kmph and higher. On my system I do not notice the tension at lower settings as much as I would like.
